Both Kevin Love and LeBron James of Cleveland Cavaliers played a hand in the surprising 103-80 win by the Detroit Pistons. NBA star player James appeared to be powerless in the match against the Detroit team, which seemed to play with renewed vigor following the release of Josh Smith a few days ago. Since Kyrie Irving, the point guard, and the 3rd All Star of the Cleveland team was out with a knee injury, Brandon Jennings took full advantage of Matthew Dellavedova.

The Sunday match saw Brandon Jennings bringing in massive runs in the 2nd and 3rd segments, giving his Detroit team 25 points. He was responsible for not only six assists but five rebounds as well during hispower-packed thirty minutes of play. Describing his superb performance as good team work, Jennings simply said, “Everybody’s making the extra pass, not just one guy out there making plays.”Throughout the game,Jennings showed his talent by controlling the game in his own way and offering teammates opportunities after opportunities during transitions.

Taking advantage of the weak defense put up by the Cleveland team, Jennings along with Jodie Meeks, Caron Butler and Kentavious Caldwell-Pope, provided the Pistons with 55% shot on 3-pointers which enabled the team to arrive at a score of 17 out of 31, a record best for the franchise. It was a bombardment of not only able triples,but good defense that led the Pistons to defeat crowd favorite, Cleveland Cavaliers. At the same time, the Cleveland team was expected to represent the eastern section at the final rounds of the NBA competition. The combative Pistons kept the opposing team at a 38% shooting rate while restricting it to 33% after the 1st segment.
