5-Year Old Drunk On Mouthwash Leads To Arrest Of His Father And Fathers Girlfriend

A 5-year-old little boy from New Mexico says that after feeling thirsty, he drank a mouthwash which made him drunk. The incident led to the arrest of his father and the father’s girlfriend and being charged with abuse.

Albuquerque, New Mexico, Police say the boy and his sister, 6, have been physically abused by the 25-year-old girlfriend, Tyriese Howard, and Breya Allen, 23. Howard lives with the children who call her “mom” and their father.

What kind of abuse they faced?

There is also a third kid who is a 3-year-old boy. The third boy talked with a physician with the New Mexico Hospital Child Abuse Response Team, told Dr. Shalon Nienow.

According to the arrest warrant, the boy told Nienow that they got “whoopins,” hit in the face as well as getting beaten with belts, hangers, shoes, cords and spatulas.

Along with the medical staff of the hospital, the police found proof of several injuries on the 5 year old boy and the sister. Albuquerque police said the scars on their bodies are a sign of “repeated physical child abuse.”

The warrant

In the warrant, Officer Joann Lopez wrote: “Tyriese and Breya both maintained they did not know how” the 5-year-old “sustained his multiple injuries.” “Breya claimed the cuts and scars on [the 5-year-old’s] neck were caused from eczema.”

The father and his girlfriend used to threaten the children. All three kids were quiet and didn’t speak of what’s happening because the father and his girlfriend told them “snitches get switches.”

The 5-year-old boy informed the detectives that his father “tells him he hates him over and over and [the boy] feels like he wants to kill him.”

Police started the investigation when the 5-year-old was transferred by an ambulance to Presbyterian Hospital with a blood-alcohol content of 0.20.
