2017 Sports Illustrated Swimsuit cover girl is Kate Upton

The cover of SI Swimsuit welcomes Kate Upton back!

America’s blonde bombshell, Kate Upton, will grace the pages of SI Swimsuit for the fifth time. The beauty was shot by Yu Tsai in beautiful Fiji

Kate started her career with SI Swimsuit in 2011. She went on to land the cover on back-to-back years in 2012 and 2013.

At just 22-years-old, she was named as a member of 22-person SI Swimsuit legends class, which included modeling icons such as Heidi Klum, Christie Brinkley, Tyra Banks, and Elle Macpherson, to name a few.

SI Swimsuit decided to honor Kate with three covers this year. SI Swimsuit editor MJ Day said that they didn’t start off with the idea of three covers, but when Kate was actually shooting, all the looks they were trying came out all great.

MJ continued saying that Upton’s career started at SI Swimsuit and they have watched her grow and become a worldwide superstar. She’s also a trailblazer, paving the way to curvier, models, such as Ashley Graham.

Kate hasn’t stuck to modelling only, she also starred in several movies, such as The Other Woman, alongside Cameron Diaz and Leslie Mann.

She is also appearing in the upcoming movie The Layover. But everyone at SI is more excited about her return to the cover of the magazine.

When asked about her return, Kate said that she was very excited when MJ asked to be back, especially that this year’s issue celebrates women of all ages and body types. “It was inspiring to be asked to be a part of that issue,” the supermodel added

Kate elaborated saying that “Those are the campaigns I want to do and the career I want to have — to inspire women to love themselves.

That’s a balance of working hard and eating healthy but also enjoying life and having cheat days and for the emphasis not to be on the ideal perfect body. It makes me proud to be asked back.”
