Fox News conducted a new survey where it asked Americans their opinions of a number of political leaders and politically relevant organizations. The survey concluded that Sen. Bernie Sanders (I-Vt.) had the largest net favorability, which is the overall favorable views minus unfavorable ones.
Net favorability by all groups:
Following Sanders, the second-highest net favorability was held by Planned Parenthood, this is due to the organization enjoying strong partisan support. If the NRA was included in the survey, it would have probably gotten a push from Republicans to take the second place.
The most popular politicians on net were Besides Sanders, Sen. Elizabeth Warren (D-Mass.) and Vice President Pence. The debated Affordable Care Act fared better than President Trump and most Republican politicians included in the poll.
Trailing at the bottom were House Minority Leader Nancy Pelosi (D-Calif.) and Senate Majority Leader Mitch McConnell (R-Ky.). House Speaker Paul D. Ryan (R-Wis.) was less popular on net than the unpopular Trump, but both did better than WikiLeaks.
Breaking it down by party:
If the results are broken down by party, the results change dramatically.
For Democrats, Sanders is at the top, and thanks to 85% of Democrats holding a strongly unfavorable view of Trump, his net favorability was minus 83. Hillary Clinton wasn’t included in the poll.
Among Democrats, Planned Parenthood holds the most “strongly favorable” opinion of any person or group thanks to almost two thirds of the party members viewing the organization that way. However, 30% of Democrats seem to not know who Senate Minority Leader Charles E. Schumer (D-N.Y.) is.
Trump has a higher net favorability among Republicans, edging out Pence. While Nancy Pelosi is at the bottom and Obamacare is just above it. The Freedom Caucus, which is a group of conservative members of Congress, isn’t well known among any group. Planned Parenthood isn’t very popular among Republicans.
However, Planned Parenthood is popular among independents. The organization comes in second among them right after Sanders.
Pelosi is at the bottom for independents too, while Trump is viewed more favorably than unfavorably. He is dragged down the overall due to the strength of that Democratic opposition.
According to the Fox News poll, at least half of the country views three people or groups favorably; Sanders, Planned Parenthood and Obamacare, while two are viewed unfavorably.
